Jam-Small achievements

Spring is really making itself felt here this week with fluctuating temperatures and lots of windy days

The garden is starting to look like a garden again with new growth and Spring flowers appearing overnight

Some things are later than usual and others seem to be earlier than they have been in the past. That's the thing about gardens though, surprises everyday.

Small achievements this week. One of Beau's rats was very sick and looked like she wouldn't make it but with patience and lots of care she has made a full recovery. With all the handling she has had this past week she no longer bites every time a hand goes near her, which is a bonus.

Yesterday I handed in my last Assessment tasks for Cert III. Now I just have to wait and see if I passed them all. It will only be a matter of correcting them and sending them back in if I did anything wrong. So it will be on to Cert IV next week.

And one quilt started for Christmas, just waiting on some backing fabric to move on with it. It is Grand Final day here in Victoria tomorrow so guess where I will be all day.

Today the radar looks like this and there has been strong wind since 1am this morning. Where was I at 1am this morning? Out shutting the shed doors so they wouldn't bang and rattle and I could go back to sleep!
Needless to say I will be doing inside jobs today.

JaM-Garden and Food

JaM-Taking Just a Moment to gather & share the things you have noticed, consumed, created&/or bought during your week.

Typical Spring weather is happening here, with beautiful sunny days where you can finally go out and mow the lawn.  Just as you finish you look over there and the sky is suddenly getting dark.

The heavy shower is over before you know it and everything is wet again. I have been swapping plants with a friend this week and have four Buddleias to plant when I can find a spot to put them.

The weekend was all about food.. My daughter came home and cooked me an amazing Birthday feast. First there was a pre dinner plate of cheeses, sun dried tomatoes, strawberries and dip along with an excellent bottle of wine.

Dinner was amazing with lots of new flavours to be consumed.  A green curry, stir fried vegies and noodles and so much more.

Beau contributed the caramel/chocolate mudcake which was very, very nice!
Come and share your moments with us at Jody's.

JaM-The flowers that bloom.

JaM-taking Just a Moment to gather & share the things you have noticed, consumed, created &/or bought during your week........

The weather has definitely taken a turn for the better in the past week. Spring is really here at last.

My resolve to learn new things and try new things has led me to join the Upper Murray Health and Community Services Community Liaison Group. New people and new experiences.

There is very little crafting going on around here at the minute, but there has been time to work in the garden and there have been tentative steps to start Spring Cleaning.Although, until the wood fires are out for the Summer the cleaning can't really be done in earnest.

I'm still working my way through the Tafe course but it is very hard to stay focused with such beautiful days happening outside.

Lots of coming and going happening here this coming weekend with children and their friends coming to visit for a day and maybe overnight. Just like Jody there will be the challenge of fitting them in and some rearranging happening as well.

Jumbling my Memes........again!

JaM-Another week flying past

I think I blinked and missed a few days this week, had to be the reason it flew like it did.
It was a pretty solid week of study trying to get lots done and running into some bits that were frustrating which held me up a bit.

I turned the lights off and the key in the door for the last time in my Website on Friday. A little sad but totally sure that it was the right thing to do at the right time. I found out how many lives I had touched when the emails, cards and the occasional gift started to arrive. All very unexpected but such a nice way to finish. I spent Sunday packing what was left  and giving the sewing room a really good clean. I even managed to start playing with some fabric for a quilt I want to start soon.
The sun is shining, blossom is on the trees and although there are more cold days to come, Spring is finally here!!!!!

MPAY-Making something out of nothing

Making something out of something else, recycling, repurposing or whatever you would like to call it is something I do all the time.
Doily's become pincushions, dolls clothes or maybe even a part of a quilt.
Old curtains, clothing or fabric from anywhere is turned into Quilts, bags and dolls clothes too.
What do you recycle into something else, making something out of nothing?

Sweet Little things about Me-Vegemite or Peanut Butter

If I had to make a choice it would be Vegemite but I rarely even have it because I am not a toast or snack eater.  I can remember when we were little Mum used to make us Vegemite broth. A teaspoon of Vegemite in a cup of hot water. It was supposed to build us up when we were sick. Did any one else's Mum do that?
I do eat Peanut butter but rarely and that is usual off a teaspoon. We all have our vices you know.
Join in over here and tell us if your a Vegemite person or do you prefer Peanut Butter?
