It's a Beautiful day!

How cute are these? They were feeding right in front of where we parked the car.
A stroll across the Footbridge to the beach. It really isn't as long as it looks.
Perfect!
Machicho had a ball though she kept well away from the water. She hates water at the best of times but was really freaked out when it chased her!
All that running around and she managed to get her harness tangled. I think she was glad to have a rest.

Today is our 30th Wedding Anniversary (Pearl), amazing we have got this far!!!!  This morning I received a gorgeous bunch of flowers and tonight we are booked into a lovely Seafood Restaurant for dinner. A very nice start to my last week away though I'm still waiting for my Pearls............

Family Tree

As a result of a conversation with my Mum the other day I have started a Family tree of her father's side of the Family. It has been an interesting journey for her as she has found out quite a few things and found a few family members that she didn't know about. Early days yet as there is lots more to do but it has filled in the last few days of my third week here.
One more week to go. The time has passed so quickly but it has been lovely to step back and catch my breathe, spend time with my Mum and just RELAX.

Can you believe I've been here two weeks? My eldest son, Ben came over on Monday and we had a lovely couple of days together before he headed back home this afternoon. Yesterday we packed lunch, dug out the fishing rods, got some bait and headed to Marlo for a few hours. It is actually Corringle which is opposite Marlo that we go to. My dad built a cabin at Corringle before I was born and we spent every Summer holiday there running wild. It was on Crown land and had to be pulled down in the eighties. We took our kids camping there for years when they were little and Ben just wanted to go back and take a look. We managed to bring home four nice Bream and a Flathead for dinner. Mum was rapt with the fish and somewhere in the next two weeks she thought we might go and do some more fishing. Not sure when as she has a pretty full calender with her Lawn Bowls over the next 10 days. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed fishing, it's been a while.

Holiday mode

I've run away from home, done the traditional thing and........Gone home to mother. It's been a lovely few days so far sleeping in, then whiling away the day in the shady courtyard off the dining room. Maybe wandering into the shops for a few things or buying lovely fresh prawns off the boat for dinner.
Of course my little dog has come with me and after a few unsettled days she has found the perfect spot to keep an eye out for birds up in the grapevine. Of course Joy (my mum) isn't too impressed with where she has decided to sit but what can you do really?
It's going to be really hard going home after a few weeks of this but I'm not going to worry too much about that right now. I'll just enjoy being in holiday mode while I can!

No more pencils, no more books.............................!!

I realised today that for the first time in over 20 years I'm not rushing around getting someone organised to go back to school!! I'm done with the Book lists, subject fees, uniforms and just the right shoes that are name brand but fit the schools black shoe policy. No more fund-raising, expensive school excursions, Parent/Teacher interviews, kids not doing homework and Teacher's ringing me about it.  Oh! No more school lunches to pack!!!
I'm sure there are positives about kids going back to school too but at the moment they escape me.
It feels a bit strange really but I'm sure I'll get over it.
