JaM - Whatcha got.

This weeks theme for JaM is Watcha Got. Have you found anything lately to add to your collections? Anyone who has been following my Blog know I have more Collections than I know what to do with but strangely enough I haven't really added anything to them over the past few months. (Probably because Christmas totally drained my Wallet!!!)  I have been wracking my brain trying to think if anything new had been added and  while I was wandering around I found this........

Beau gave me this Vintage Picnic basket a few weeks ago.  It has been badly repaired with bits of red and green plastic but it still has a lot of appeal. I love the woven piece inside the lid.
One of these days I will sit down and repair it with something a little better than multi coloured plastic.

She's soooo sweet and don't you just love how someone took the time to fix her instead of throwing her away - good old days!

Thanks for joining in Jackie. x

Love caneware of all types and your picnic basket is a beauty.
Wait for a cold winters day, sit in front of the fire and line it with some of your favorite fabric. You could use it as another sewing box.....or to store special tableware........or.....

Ooh you did find something to put up Jackie, and it's just lovely! I also have some of these too in different shapes and sized. They great to collect hey?
I've seen that woven bit inside the lid on others before too, and I gather it's for tucking things behind.
I have all good intentions of repairing mine one day too. I've even 'collected' up amounts of gingham to use for linings! :)

You didn't post a pic of the rest of your collection though!? x

p.s. word verification is scons. They can be placed in the basket! hehehe

It is gorgeous - you will be able to fix it up over time, I love how someone decided to fix it temporarily rather than forgetting about this fabulous piece
